The Minister of Health Dr. Hamad Al-Mane and a number of MOH officials welcomed yesterday Sunday April 29, 2007 the Egyptian Minister of Health and Population Dr. Hatem Al-Jabali and accompanying delegation. The 3 days visit of the Egyptian delegation aims to boost joint work in the field of health. The guest shall also pay visits to a number of health facilities in order to be informed of the health wellbeing witnessed in the Kingdom. He will also hold a preparatory meeting with some MOH officials lead by MOH Undersecretary for Planning and Development Dr. Obeid Al-Obeid for discussing a number of issues including registration and pricing of medicines, health insurance, cooperation in the field of recruiting Egyptian doctors to work in the Kingdom, and epidemic diseases such as avian flue.

On Thursday the respectful guest shall meet the Minister of Health for discussing cooperative work through intensifying and diversifying the rehabilitation programs held at the Egyptian National Institute for training with special concentration on the specialties required by MOH. The meeting shall also try to work out a plan for recruiting doctors and technical health staff from Egypt. A number of other important issues shall also be discussed including the opinion of the Egyptian Ministry of Health regarding the project of refunding treatment costs in Egypt, registration of medicines in the two countries, exchanging experience for improving the health sectors in the two countries, investment capabilities in the health sectors of the two countries, and ways of cooperation for combating epidemics such avian flue.
The accompanying delegation includes Prof Saeed Ratib, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Public Commission of Health Insurance, Prof Mamduh Mahfouz, Consultant of the Minister of Health, Dr. Nasr Al-Deen, Head of Preventive Affairs, Dr. Samia Salah, Head of Panning and Drug Policies, Dr. Samir Al-Namki, the Director General assigned for following the affairs of the office of the Minister of Health, Dr. Amirah Tahio, the technical support coordinator in Alexandria, and Dr. Mamduh Saqr, the Master of Relations and Ceremonies of the Office of the Minister of Health.
