Emergency and Field Medicine Committee Provides Ambulatory Services for 2.667 Cases on the Day of 'Arafah

The Emergency and Field Medicine Committee has provided field ambulatory services for 2.667 cases in the course of the 24 hours of the Day of 'Arafah.

This was made known by Dr. Tariq bin Salem Al-Arnous, Director-General of Emergency and Head of Emergency and Field Medicine Committee, who explained that filed medical teams have handled 3.015 cases from 1 am on 9/12/1432H (5/11/2011) to 1 am on 10/12/1432H (6/11/2011).

He went on to say that 2.594 cases have been provided in-place urgent curative services, whereas 73 cases have been transmitted to the MOH hospitals spread out in the Holy Places. The great bulk of cases (2257) could be classified as normal cases, he added, as opposed to 116 respiratory crisis cases, 79 heat exhaustion cases, 46 falling cases, 31 burning cases, 22 fainting cases, 13 heart attack cases, 5 running over cases, 7 epilepsy cases, and 10 bleeding cases.

It is worth mentioning that the Emergency and Field Medicine Committee has assigned 175 medical teams to the provision of ambulatory services. They are distributed to the ambulances serving in the Holy Places (small ambulances to function as portable intensive care units, and big ambulances to transmit patients among the hospitals and health care of Makkah and the Holy Places).
