The MOH Hospitals of the Holy Sites Conduct 13 Open-Heart Operations, 261 Cardiac Catheterization Procedures to the Hajj Performers

The official spokesman of the Ministry of Health (MOH), and the Head of the Media Committee, Dr. Khaled bin Mohammed Al-Marghalani affirmed that the MOH hospitals and health centers in Makkah and the Holy Sites kept on delivering their public and specialized health services, at the third and fourth levels, to the Hajj performers.

 

He pointed out that from 1/11 to the morning of the ninth day of Dhu al-Hijjah 1434h, the hospitals and specialized centers in Makkah, the Holy Sites, and Madinah performed 13 open-heart operations to the sick Hajj performers, 261 cardiac catheterization procedures, and 49 gastrointestinal endoscopy procedures, as well as 852 dialysis sessions with its two types: hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis included.

 

Similarly, he made clear that 318,761 sick Hajj performers frequented the hospitals and health centers in the Holy Capital, the Holy Sites, and Madinah during this period.

 

To that effect, the hospitals provided their services for 47,412 Hajj performers, of which there are 32,205 patients treated through the outpatient clinics, whereas 15,207 others benefitted from the emergency and ambulatory services.

He also noted that 271,349 ill Hajj performers were delivered the primary healthcare services in the health centers in the Holy Capital, Madinah, and the Holy Sites during the same period.

 

Within the same vein, he remarked that 20174 sick Hajj performers were detained in the different specialized sections in the MOH hospitals located in the Hajj areas, of which 10580 sick Hajj performers were discharged after receiving the due treatment. He went on to add that the number of the inpatient Hajj performers remained in the MOH hospitals in the Holy Capital, Madinah, and the Holy Sites till the morning of 9/12 are 610 patients, receiving the necessary therapeutic services. 

 

As regards the specialized services delivered to the Hajj performers, the MOH hospitals witnessed eight birth cases to women coming to perform the Hajj pillar.
