King Abdullah Medical City in the Holy Capital kept implementing its plan for this year's Hajj season, was put in full alert, completed the readiness of all the departments and sections, and prepared emergency and operation sections, and detention at the highest preparation degrees; in order to cope with the sick Hajj performers and provide the healthcare for them.
Within the same vein, and as part of the City's Hajj season plan, cardiac catheterization program and heart surgery operations were expanded and services provided in the intensive care units were advanced and upgraded.
Also, airstrip for helicopters was prepared and equipped with the aim of receiving the illness cases.
On the other hand, huge amounts of blood were provided through a donation campaign mounted in the City and within a number of governmental departments.
It contributed to providing blood units derived from all diverse groups. All the more, on Arafat Day, the City is to ascend the convoy of the Hajj performers detained in it; to enable them to perform the Hajj rites, with a medical team accompanying them to the Holy Site of Arafat.
All the same, the Executive Director-General of the King Abdullah Medical City, Dr. Yasin Malawi pointed out that the preparations were made under the supervision of his Excellency Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al-Rabeeah. They include preparing early for the Hajj season through the readiness of all the various section around the clock; in order to provide the medical specialized services.
He went on affirming that the plan took into account all the anticipated possibilities; and the disasters and accidents which could take place during the Hajj season, Allah forbids. He also added that the medical teams were put to the test in the City through conducting a simulated experiment a couple of weeks ago; in order to make sure of their readiness.
It demonstrated up to par interaction and down-to-earth approach towards the simulated experiment, which in turn contributed to remarkable outputs.
He finally made clear that the plan and preparation of all sections took place early on through expanding the capacity of the emergency and detention sections, and providing all the medical devices in all the sections which, Allah willing, guarantee providing remarkable, specialized medical services in the medical City, contributing to serving the Hajj performers and upgrading the services provided for them.
