The Ministers of Health and Education Honor Participants in “Wa’ai Award” … as An Extension of Healthcare Transformation Journey

The Minister of Health, Fahd bin Abdulrahman Al-Jalajel, celebrated the participants in health awareness through the "Wa'i Award" in its sixth edition, and the entities that contributed to promoting the role and impact of awareness in society, during the closing ceremony held today in Riyadh in the presence of the Minister of Education Yousef bin Abdullah Al-Bunyan.

The award comes within the Ministry's initiatives to support and empower entities and individuals interested in health awareness in the Arab world to promote the principle of Prevention Over Treatment, in addition to encouraging citizens of the Arab world to produce creative content that contributes to enriching health awareness content, to promote healthy habits and raise awareness of the risks and negative effects that may affect public health.
The Minister of Health appreciated the continuous and unlimited support and efforts of the wise leadership to raise the quality of health services, in accordance with international standards, pointing out that the Kingdom's expertise in promoting health prevention and raising community awareness, made the Wa'ai Award positioned globally.
The total "Wa’ai" awards amount to more than one million Saudi riyals, distributed over 6 tracks: "Short Film Track", "Motion Graphics Track", "Infographics Track", "Advertising Photography Track", "Creative Ideas Track", and "Longitudinal Shots Track", in addition to the "Audience Award", which is an award independent of the jury, and is granted to the top 10 entries voted on by the audience through the award's website.
The topics of the Wa’ai Award in its sixth edition include physical activity, sleep and insomnia, non-communicable diseases, infectious diseases, traffic accidents, health insurance, first aid, and addiction.
This season's "Wa’ai" Award honored entities that have been interested in prevention and health awareness over the years, on their initiative and responsibility, namely the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and the “Fijan Gahwa” podcast by “Thmnayah Channel”.
It is worth noting that "Wa’ai Award" has succeed up to its sixth Edition due to the Ministry of Health's belief in the importance of supporting, empowering, and motivating all those interested in health awareness in the Arab world. There was a wide participation at the local and Arab levels in the Award. The percentage of participation from Arab countries reached 44%, while at the local level it reached 56%. The Award honored more than 300 people interested in health awareness during its past seasons, to enhance prevention and raise awareness to contribute to preserving the health and safety of community members against various health risks.
