More than 3 Million People Tested for Hepatitis C virus. MOH: 100 Centers for Monitoring Respiratory Diseases & Activating M


During the past year 2022, Ministry of Health witnessed an expansion in the outpost monitoring centers for respiratory diseases, reaching 100 centers, and activating the integrated monitoring of respiratory diseases.
The ministry stated that more than 3 million people have been tested for hepatitis C virus; As part of the project to eradicate the virus in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, bringing the total number of people examined in the Kingdom since the beginning of the program to 13.5 million people, of whom 73 thousand people were vaccinated with the shingles vaccine, in addition to the Ministry launching the papilloma vaccine, and 245 thousand female students were vaccinated.
In the past year 2022, MOH also continued to expand curative and preventive care services for people with acquired immunodeficiency virus (AIDS). By increasing the treatment centers in 5 regions, for a total of 16 treatment centers, while travel clinics were activated in 20 regions. The service was provided to 9,120 beneficiaries in the past year, in addition to completing the examination of 40,000 high-risk groups by examining latent tuberculosis in 7 regions, and completing the launch of environmental monitoring. of poliovirus in high-risk areas in 3 regions.
This comes within the framework of continuous health work to achieve the objectives of the Kingdom's Vision 2030 to enhance public health, expand the spread of health services in all regions of the Kingdom, and facilitate access to them, in addition to confronting infectious diseases, to raise the quality of life, which is one of the initiatives of the Vision 2030.
