Ministry of Health Launches Oncology Electronic Platform in Partnership with STC

​​Today, Wednesday, October 19, 2022, the Ministry of Health, represented by Seha Virtual Hospital, and in partnership with Saudi Telecom Company (STC), inaugurated the tumors electronic platform at the headquarters of Seha Virtual Hospital in Riyadh.The platform aims to improve quality of healthcare services provided to oncology patients by early detection of tumors and developing appropriate treatment plans in accordance with international standards, stipulating the need to study oncology cases by a medical committee consisting of several specialized doctors to determine necessary and appropriate treatment according to type and degree of tumor. MOH indicated that this platform is the first-of-its-kind in the Middle East, managed by a group of Kingdom's doctors specialized in several subspecialties, to meet and discuss oncology cases presented by health authorities associated therewith, in addition to possibility of transferring knowledge and exchanging experiences between specialists in the field of Oncology from inside and outside the Kingdom.The ministry (MOH) added that as launching of the platform coincides with this month of October, which is annually dedicated to breast cancer awareness, doctors working on the platform began their work by dealing with a number of cases in several regions in the Kingdom. Launching of this platform comes within the framework of MOH's efforts to support provision of healthcare services in many delicate and rare specialties while facilitating access procedures, as well as supporting knowledge capacity building, innovation development and partnership with private sector in related health fields in line with goals of the national transformation and the Kingdom’s vision 2030.​
