The Saudi Center for Disease Prevention and Control (Weqaya) has accredited the regional laboratory in the Northern Borders Health Affairs to perform COVID-19 testing after confirming application of the approved standards and specifications. The lab uses the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) tests for COVID-19, with a capacity of 400 samples per a day.
The regional laboratory is enhanced with highly qualified staff to ensure accuracy of results.
