MOH: 1,618 New COVID-19 Cases, Total Recovery Rate at 71%

​​​According to the Ministry of Health (MOH), 1,618 new confirmed cases of Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) have been reported in the Kingdom; thus bringing the total number to 83,384 cases, including 24,021 active cases, receiving the necessary medical care. Of these, there are 441 critical cases, while the health condition of the rest is stable. Also, 1,870 cases have been recovered, bringing the total recoveries to 58,883 cases, All praise is due to Allah.


“The new confirmed cases include 42% Saudi citizens and 58% non-Saudi residents. About 30% of the cases are females, and 70% are males. Only 4% of the reported cases are older persons, 13% are children, and 83% are adults,” MOH stated.

MOH added that these new cases were distributed as follows: 679 in Riyadh, 247 in Jeddah, 105 in Makkah, 101 in Hofuf, 84 in Dammam, 64 in Khobar, 45 in Madinah, 33 in Buraydah, 25 in Qatif, 24 in Dhahran, 19 in Jubail, 14 in Al-Madhah, 13 in Taif, 12 in Ras Tanura, 12 in Tabuk, 10 in Al-Bukayriyah, 9 in Al-Jafr, 8 in Hail, 7 in Jazan, 6 in Yanbu, 6 in Khamis Mushait, 6 in Baish, 5 in Mahayil Asir, 5 in Sharurah, 4 in Safwa, 4 in Hafar Al-Batin, 4 in Rabigh, 4 in Najran, 3 in Sakaka, 3 in Al-Moya, 3 in Al-Dawadmi, 3 in Wadi Al-Dawasir, 2 in Baljurashi, 2 in Al-Badaye‘, 2 in  Oyoun Al-Jawa, 2 in Al-Sahn, 2 in Al-Majardah, 2 in Al-Namas, 2 in Dhahran Al-Janoub, 2 in Abqaiq, 2 in Al-Ardhah, 2 in Arar, 2 in Afif, 2 in Al-Kharj, 2 in Hurimala, in addition to one case in each of Al-Russ, Unaizah, Al-Qawz, Al-Quraia, Rania, Abha, Sarat Ubaidah, Bisha, Al-Batha, Al-Nai‘riya, Salwa, Abu Arish, Al-Twal, Al-Daer, Sabya, Al-Kamel, Khalis, Al-Muzahmiyah, Al-Quwayya, Al-Sulayyil, Dharmaa, Hotat Bani Tamim, Marat, Ruwaidah Al-Ard, and Sager.

Moreover, 22 new deaths have been reported; bringing the total deaths to 480. The new deaths include a Saudi citizen in Riyadh, and 21 non-Saudi residents in Makkah, Riyadh, Madinah, Jeddah, Taif, Buraydah, and Hofuf, and most of them were suffering chronic diseases; thus bringing the total deaths to 0.57%, while recoveries amounted to 71%.

The total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases worldwide has jumped to 5,945,737 cases, of which 2,507,354 cases have recovered to date. As for the COVID-19 death toll, it has jumped to 365,368.  

Regarding the lab tests in the Kingdom, new 19,104 lab tests have been conducted, bringing the total tests to date to 806,569. The reliable information about COVID-19 could be obtained from «Coronavirus Prevention» website.

MOH reiterated that anyone, who has symptoms or wants an assessment, can use the self-assessment service on «Mawid» app. Those, who have questions, can also inquire or seek advice by calling the 937-Service Center, available 24/7. The Center is now made closer to everyone than ever. The public can also benefit from its interactive services through WhatsApp app. on the number 920005937. They can have access to health information and updates on COVID-19. The service also provides users with information on blood donation and primary health care centers (PHCs). Besides, it enables them to reserve appointments.
