Under the auspices of the Custodian of the Two
Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz, may Allah protect him, the Kingdom will
host the sixth conference of OIC health ministers under the theme "Health in all
Policies". The conference will be held in Jeddah from 17-19 Rabie Al-Awal 1439H.
(corresponding to 5-7 December, 2017).
Participants in the conference include
delegations headed by Health Ministries from the OIC member states and regional
and international observer organizations. The Organization of Islamic
Cooperation (OIC) is the second largest inter-governmental organization after
the United Nations. It endeavors to safeguard and protect the vital interests
of the Muslim world, boost Islamic solidarity among member countries and support
cooperation between them in political, economic, social, cultural and scientific
fields.
The meeting will discuss important
recommendations to promote health and upgrade health systems in order to achieve
the objectives of the OIC Strategic Health Program of Action (2014-2023), and to
make public health a priority policy in all systems and regulations to boost
efficiencies and desired outcomes of the conference.
