A medical team at King Saud Hospital- Unaizah has successfully saved the life of a pregnant Saudi woman, at the beginning of the third month, who had been suffering from severe lower abdominal pain, particularly at the left side. After due medical tests, the woman, in her 30s, was diagnosed with a rare and high risky type of ectopic pregnancy, in the colon area of the abdomen. The patient underwent a surgery during which the gestational sac and fetus were removed without any effect on the uterus and her internal organs, while maintaining her life, thank Allah.

It is noted that the hospital's Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology conducts an average of 22 births daily, ntural and Caesarean.

It is worth mentioning that MOH is currently implementing health performance program, which seeks to boost productivity, performance quality and efficiency of health services in hospitals.

Currently, the program includes 70 main hospitals, where over 40 key performance indicators are applied to seven service units including: emergency, clinics, surgeries, hospitalization, ICU, radiology and laboratories. Also, the program aims to develop skills of health professionals to deal with these indicators and to identify performance improvement potentials, in balance with the quality standards and patient safety.
