According to the Ministry of Health (MOH) the government hospitals in the Eastern Region have received, through Ihalti program, 16,193 cases of which 658 are live-saving, 3,033 emergency, 1,747 hospitalization and 10,755 cases at the outpatient clinics.
It indicated that 162 of these cases were refereed from a government hospital to the ICU of private hospitals, while a total of 12 cases in need of long-term medical care have been transferred from government hospitals to a private sector hospital which serves this category of patients.
Within the same vein, the MOH said that the Eastern Region General Directorate for Health Affairs have received, during 45 days, 8 cases of citizens coming from abroad to continue treatment in the region's hospitals, in coordination with the concerned authorities in those countries. They include 4 cases in Dammam Medical Complex, 2 in King Fahad Specialist Hospital in Dammam, one in King Fahad University Hospital in Khobar and another case in Qatif Central Hospital.
