30 May 2011
HE Minister of Health, Dr. Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz Al Rabeeah, directed concerned Ministry departments to start the implementation phase of approved developmental healthcare programs and projects in Hail in a timely manner, based on Integrated National Healthcare Project standards.  HE’s direction followed his visit to Hail last week.

The Ministry Spokesman, Dr. Khaled Marglani, announced that the Ministry will designate SR 10 million to establish a 20-bed One-Day Surgery Center, and SR 20million for a 40-bed kidney dialysis center and national follow-up program for renal failure patients. HE also gave orders to hasten the completion of a planned Cardiology Center, and requested personal updates on the project’s status.  HE stressed the urgency hiring highly qualified consultants from the United States and other countries as soon as possible, in accordance with the Visiting Doctors Program.

Dr. Al Marglani added that HE’s directives also included implementing an urgent plan to renovate present healthcare buildings and to provide new medical equipment. SR 15million will be allocated for medical and non-medical equipment replacements and SR 13 million to reestablish Hail General Hospital. In addition, HE ordered following up on the proposed implementation tenders for 18 Primary Healthcare Centers, as well as replacing the 300-bed capacity Hail General Hospital within a period of two months. The design for the new hospital is designed according to updated international standards being applied by the Ministry for the first time. The following up of the proposed implementation tender for the 200-bed Children’s and Maternity Hospital and the 200-bed Mental Hospital will be carried out within a month. HE will receive periodic reports on these projects based on an existing implementation timetable.

Dr. Marglani concluded his remarks by stressing that the Ministry is committed to providing high-quality health services and to develop new health facilities throughout the Kingdom, under HE’s personal supervision, in order to meet both our leaders’ expectations and our citizens’ health needs.
