Princess Hissa Al Shalan Sponsors MOH Celebration
25 April 2011
His Excellency the Minister of Health, Dr. Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz Al Rabeeah, expressed his thanks and appreciation to Princess Hissa Bint Trad Al-Shalan, wife of King Abdullah, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, for sponsoring the celebration that will be launched by the Ministry of Health this Tuesday evening at the King Saud Medical City in Riyadh.  The event celebrates the two-year anniversary of the launch of the MOH’s Domestic Medicine Program, which to date has helped more than 7,000 patients Kingdom wide.
His Excellency praised the Princess’s patronage as a clear sign of her dedication to charitable healthcare work, through her role as the head of the National Domestic Medicine Charity.

With the generous support of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, the Ministry of Health has established a number of vital healthcare programs to serve the Kingdom’s citizens. The goal of the Domestic Medicine Program is to provide healthcare services to patients in their own homes.  The program helps patients to recover and rehabilitate physically, psychologically and socially while preventing the complications sometimes associated with long hospital stays. The program also helps patients to receive any medical equipment and other support needed for their outpatient care.  Under the program, qualified medical teams deliver a variety of services to specific categories of patients in their own homes, in accordance with MOH methods and standards.

This program meets both the public’s needs and our leaders’ expectations by helping the Ministry provide the best possible quality of healthcare services to all.
