Omani ambassador to Kingdom values Riyadh meetings of GCC health ministers

The Omani ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Mr. Saeed A. S. Kalbani said convening the 64th conference of the GCC Council of Health Ministers in Riyadh comes in line with the goals set for the GCC in its Foundation Charter and joint economic agreements.
 
"The conference will discuss the issues of cooperation within the health field for realizing the ambitions and hopes of the peoples of the GCC nations", he said. "Such subjects include getting health services in any of the GCC states without obstacles, thus establishing confidence in health services among the peoples of the GCC countries".
 
He said the aspects of cooperation among GCC countries include coordinated preventive, therapeutic and rehabilitative works, setting health priorities and joint programs, boosting cooperation with Arabic and international health organizations, ensuring easy travel of specialists within the GCC countries, elevation of custom tariff on tobaccos to 100%, safe disposal of medical wastes, and establishment of a committee for drug surveillance.
 
Finally, the Omani ambassador said convening the conference in Riyadh under the sponsorship of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz will ensure its success in consolidating cooperative work.
