On the occasion of the 64th conference of the GCC Council of Health Ministers, which will be held in Riyadh on Feb 5 and Feb 6, 2008, Mr. Hasan bin Mahmoud Al-Fakhiri, the MOH General Supervisor of the Directorate of International Health and member of the Executive Office of the GCC Council of Health Ministers, said the Council has realized a number of achievements during the past few years. He said such achievements has been the result of studies carried out by technical committees and work groups formed by scientific meetings involving participation of specialists from the region as well as experts from other countries and relative national, regional and international organizations. The unified purchasing of medicines and medical equipment through the Executive Office has brought great benefits to member countries, he said.
He said the 64th conference will discuss a number of issues relative to health development in the member countries. It will focus on issues such as the Gulf Charter on Heart Health and combating cardiovascular diseases.
