The Executive Manager of King Fahd Medical Hospital Dr. Abdullah bin Sulaiman Al-Amro revealed KFMH intention to organize 500 specialized courses and workshops for its nursing staff. The training programs are set for boosting nursing services and assisting KFMH staff in coping with the latest developments in the field of nursing. He said KFMH is decisively endeavouring towards Saudization of its nursing and technical staff through rehabilitating the Executive Directorate of Academic Affairs to accommodate diverse programs for training more than 198 male and female trainees. A number of programs are already working, including a one year program for nursing newly born children at intensive care units, a one year program for training high school graduates to assist health care providers and nurses, an intensive 8 weeks course for training high school graduates in providing basic nursing care, a one year program for training nurses who are newly graduated from the universities and colleges of health sciences, a one year program for training Saudi nurses in providing nursing services to the patients and their families, a 10 weeks program for training non KFMH nurses, and a program for training nursing students at the universities and colleges of health sciences. Two other programs are also under way, a one year program for nursing children at the intensive care units and a one year program for nursing heart patients.
